What are some things Game Freak stubbornly refuses to add or address regardless of fan demand or appeal?

Stuff like dating mechanics for NPCs or even acknowledging romance at all

SV is already full of romance baiting though. So much that every important character seems aggressively bisexual. There's lots of borderline flirting and NPCs being blatantly jealous of others cause they're competing for the MC.
But yeah it doesn't go further than that, probably because little kids play the game. Definitely makes me wish that they'd just do a VN spinoff for older audiences or something.

Because adding dating elements will probably push the rating up and that would mean less sales. I personally think they clearly want to add some romance undertones but they can't so they tip toe around as much as they can like with Lily and Kieran.
