Gen 6 onward will never be considered a hidden gem. It introducing megas/z-moves/dynamax/exp share makes it so let's players have to actively dodge around the mechanics because the game is way too easy otherwise.

Nah, chugga's talked about not really liking gen 6, mostly as a result of following black/white, he really likes gen 7 though. Which isn't really that much of a hot take, most people I know liked gen 7. It's just this weird and loud group going "too many cutscenes at the beginning... 0/10, complete trash, undefendable, etc etc."

I only mentioned this because he talked about it in this very let's play about how the way people talk about gen 5 and 7 are so similar.

It's weird that Gen 7 has such a loud hatebase here, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering that this place is autism central. I definitely remember him saying that he liked it during his Mystery Dungeon LP, and I'd be okay with him skipping X and Y to cover Sun and Moon. Probably won't happen though since his autism won't allow it.

Yeah, but atleast is those gens you can actually use pokemon that have bad matchups instead of just dynamaxing/terastallizing/Z-moving your bad matchup away.

X/Y released 10 years ago, people who played those games as kids are now ready to shit the internet up with their opinions. You already see people sympathising with gen 6 and saying that you can't really judge them properly because they didn't get a third version to fix all the flaws and add back the cut content.

sticker star was my first paper mario game (just never got into the series beforehand) and i hated it
mostly i just hated the boss fights being "use thing sticker for free win, kill yourself if you don't use it", the normal levels were whatever

Literally wtf does this mean?? I've read it 5 times over and it still makes no sense. Who? And why can't they just replay older games or romhacks?

Gen 7 was ok at best to me. It's the least worst out of Gens 6-8 though. I prefer Gen 9 over all of Gens 6-9

Well Gen 5 has a lot of exploration and optional areas whereas Gen 7 doesn't. The Gen 7 battle engine is a lot slower too and the Pokémon that aren't from Alola look washed out in game. Those are the main reasons I like Gen 5 but not Gen 7. I liked the story and new mons though. Even if Lillie was and still is annoying as fuck.

Pokémon is far more interesting and has more variety than Kirby literally baby's first platformer but with convoluted superfluous lore and le epic unexpected edgy final boss!!! I used to be a big fan of Kirby but it's overrated. Forgotten Land was a step in the right direction though since they cut down on the 1 trillion powers and moves you could use
