This can be shown purely by the statistics, such as in art, where SM characters completely fell off once their series ended; Lillie did the best of the group, but it was Game Lillie, not Anime Lillie, who retained some following. Meanwhile, Serena output since 2016/17 has been such that, to the uninformed, you'd assume Serena never left the show.
