Snorlax has 3 major weaknesses:
1. Lack of good attacking options
2. No recovery outside of Rest for a Pokemon whose abilities and stats are geared towards defensive play
3. Mono-Normal typing after Gen 3 added in good Steel types and Gen 4 made them more viable
It can't work offensively because it gets shit on by common Steel types and can't really do much to Ghost types either. It can't work defensively because it's lacking in longevity. It can't work in utility because it has no utility moves. There's no reason to use Snorlax when Pokemon with better stats, typing, abilities, and movepools exist, some all at the same time. What, realistically, does Snorlax offer over Dondozo besides Belly Drum?
