You may hate them but I think a Galar Starter is a very likely choice

I say Cinderace has the highest probability since Serperior and Empoleon are practically a lock and there's very few Fire Starters that could fit in Kalos region

Samurai are way more in tune with ancient japan than ninjas. Ninjas only recently became popularized from movies in America. Samurai were always revered in Japan and the west.

Typhlosion is the volcano pokemon so its more of a reference to Mt. Fuji.

Decidueye is an archer which is what Samurai were also highly skilled at. Hisuian Decidueye is more of a ronin than base Decidueye.

Sceptile and Greninja are too iconic, that's why both got power up forms. The PLA starters were intentionally the most hated starters in the franchise from the most hated regions. Bland as fuck Diet CHARIZARD one trick pony from KANTOOOs Tumor, Ugly quadroped Pooltoy that can't use its swords right from Chinese Knock-off KANTOOO, Pancake wing School shooter incel SFMA i owl from the KANTOO islands, that's why they got replaced with regional forms.

It's a guarantee that they all get megas if it is one because of the fact that it would be retarded if only the regular blaziken would could mega evolve. It would also confuse children so that as well as the fact that it would be fucking retarded if the blaziken from kalos couldn't mega but the one from hoenn could even with oras existing.
