I didn’t create this OC, but she’s the only one I recall that actually comes from Kalos. Most OCs here happen to be either from Unova or Paldea. There’s also a few original regions.

I’ll answer the thread question myself:
>Koa would find himself very confused in Lumiose. The guy can navigate any jungle except an urban jungle. He’d probably have a good time in Shalour learning about Mega Evolution, a concept that would intrigue him, since it’s theoretically similar to Z-Moves in the sense that Pokémon/human bonds power it. Plus, two of his team members, Rebel the Gabite and Sandy the Larvitar, can Mega Evolve in their final evolution stages. If someone showed Koa a Mega Ampharos, he’d probably short-circuit from the sudden appearance of a “dragon factor” on a Pokémon he normally wouldn’t pay the same attention to before, that being Ampharos. A day in Santalune Forest is a necessity for him too.

Z was one of the biggest never evers in the franchise so far, and if you were here on /vp/ back then during XY release and remember how things were actually like rather than falling for the revisionism that's peddled nowadays, you cannot fault anyone for losing their mind.
Plus Johtofags and Unovafags getting BTFO after being so cocky for months was the cherry on top of the cake.

It's okay the turn for Unova's meme experimental with a twist game will come sooner or later too.
Nothing of the level of HGSS or even ORAS will happen again.
The only one Region I see getting a true "Remake" nowadays is K-K-KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and even so I can only see it happening by it being RBGY2.
There's no patterns anymore.

The entire Direct was empty air until the last two minutes with the Zaza reveal, so at least in that regard it makes sense.

The TCG thingy actually looked half-decent.
If nothing else, it may actually be a good source for the TCG illustrations.

Slightly revised bio for Grym and a new motivation for her.

Greta was a lovely young girl. Spending time with her loving mother and father (the latter being a ghost type gym leader) she especially enjoyed playing with her Father's Gengar.
Things were perfect.
And then one day, Greta and her parents died.
A vicious collision on the road left the child and her parents devoid of life in their car. This would have been the end of Greta, had her Father's Gengar not been accidentally released from it's Pokéball.
Deeply upset that it's trainer and family had been cruelly robbed of life, Gengar then decided to perform an act of sacrifice and gave it's own "life" to revive Greta.
Now as a 16 year old Ghost type trainer, Greta carries on her Father's ambitions by training to be a Ghost type gym leader.
From that point on, she gave herself a new name
"Grym"

Grym likes pancakes, her best friend Circe, and Ghost types.

Grym currently seeks out Giratina in the hopes of getting it to bring her parents back to life...

Circe wouldn't find out that Grym is resurrected until a turning point in the story. When it is revealed, Circe holds Grym tight and tells her she'll always stand by her, living or otherwise. This leads Grym to her first awakening and she gains her father's Gengar that gave her new life as her sixth Pokémon.

Her second awakening comes at the end of her story where her misguided attempt to bring back her Mother and Father sends her past the distortion realm and into the afterlife for a brief moment, where the spirits of her parents reassure her that they'll always be watching over her and that She should cherish the life she was given and live for them
this second awakening grants her the ability to mega-evolve Gengar to fight against the berserk Giratina

aaand here's the finished version. i mentioned her being a bug/fighting type last thread, so i gave her them BIG MEATY CLAWS and i tried to make the "tails" on her jacket reminiscent of a lower pair of wings. cutesy like most of her outfits but still looks easy to move in, hair is ever so slightly longer. i kinda wish i gave her wings the same pattern ribombee has but im too lazy to go back and add them lol, she has the little yellow "eyelash" thingies it does tho

CRAZY that we somehow predicted the return of Megas. Bibi is a prophet now…

Such a great design. She looks really cool, reminds me a bit of all those edits where before USUM’s release people were making Necrozma takeover versions of other box legendaries.

Black and White remakes could if they combined features from 1 & 2 to remix it.
For example removing cold storage from the first game to add the PWT otherwise just relocate it.
That's the only way to surpass HGSS, First game had the best front end but the sequel had tons of postgame.

Act 4 takes entirely in Kalos. Basically, Alex is just there to relax in Lumiose City in order to get away from the madness in Unova after clearing out the last Ghetsis loyalists. Everything is going pretty well until a pickpocket makes the mistake of choosing him as a target and ends up nearly dead. That pickpocket is affiliated with an upcoming mafia-like organization called Terrorfive led by Samuel Wolfe (aka Hubert Huges, Alex’s childhood bully), who sends some thugs to Alex’s Pokebnb house. They fail to kill Alex, so he gets pissed and enlists the help of the homeowner Edward Haynes, a Galarian national, in seeking out the Terrorfive (the five leaders of the organization) and destroying them. Can’t draw, but Alex has a Dragalge, Aegislash, Talonflame, Carbink, and Furfrou. The last three have been given to his father because he no longer needs them.

Yeah he’d be all like WOOOOAH A DRAGON/FAIRY??? PREPOSTEROUS although actually Koa has nothing against Fairy types. It’s just that he’s a little… unnerved by them. He secretly wants to like them, though, almost like his secret love of sweets. Imagine a person who’s allergic to cats that REALLY wants to touch a cat.

Out of that lot, Archaludon would probably be the most shocking to Koa. He’d have a natural reaction to the other three. Koa has an interest in Kingdra because it’s Clair’s ace and he likes to secretly read Dragon trainer gossip on the internet. Dragapult is also intriguing to him, he wants to know where they keep getting their “ammo”. And Dragalge, he doesn’t have any specific thoughts about, but he’s heard Drasna uses it so there’s some reverence there.

Added lore: since I associated Down Under by Men At Work with him, I’ve realised Koa would probably speak in an Australian accent. He tries to sound posh and honourable at first instance, and then relaxes once you get to know him. I think Australians can do both convincingly, so if he had a dub voice, the actor would sound Australian. Maybe I’ll have to use some of those inflexions in how I write him…

Talonflame was replaced with Moltres once he got it. Furfrou was never actually supposed to be a part of his team, he caught it on a whim because he thought it looked cool and then gave it to his dad soon after. It’s sometimes out when Monty is traveling through areas where he might need a bit of protection, as it’s an unassuming Pokemon, but can still fend off a shitmon, same with the Carbink. He’s actually caught a few of them, most have been sold to children looking to bolster their teams, and Alex also gifted one to Steven Stone as a token of friendship.

I’m more interested in what happens with the Dreepy that Drakloak carries. Where the hell does it come from? Is it just there after the evolution? Does it seem out the nearest Dreepy after it evolves? Where does it go afterwards? Does it turn into Dragapult’s ammunition? Does it fly off as Drakloal is evolving? My thought is that those Dreepy are either vestigial limbs of some kind or are manifested by Drakloak/Dragapult, as supposedly they are ghosts of ancient sea creatures.

To the beaches of Ambrette Town and Cyllage City. Even though Axel is trying to hunt down where the Galarlan birds could have gone to, he would absolutely take the time to just relax at the beach side. Going at night so that it's just him and the sounds of the ocean.

That’s an interesting theory. But I thought the lore was that Dragapult used its own offspring as missiles? So, does one have to have a kid in order to use Dragon Darts? I’d personally say it’s some kind of “summon” system, where Dracloak and Dragapult can summon wild Dreepy to their aid. Kinda like Wishiwashi: you’re only catching one, how does it use the school form with hundreds working in unison when you only have the one working with you?

With the release of Z-A I am kind of scared that Weavile is going to get a Mega, or even just that any Pokemon is going to get a new Mega, because I might have to put Act 4 and beyond on hold, assuming that I get to it before we have any details about any new Megas. Don't have a name for him, but I'm making an OC who is a boy from Kalos who just started his adventures but doesn't have a lot of money. To make money, he and his Quilladin perform street shows at Lumiose where the boy plays a trumpet while his Quilladin dances. He's a little upbeat and optimistic but not overtly so. He'll smile and usually look on the bright side but he won't run up and down the streets talking about his aspirations and his dreams and how he's going to achieve them no matter what. He wants to take things slow, and is still in the process of figuring out what he wants to do in life. The only thing closely related to a goal for him is that he wants to pay his older sister back after she bought him his trumpet, so he sends half the money he makes towards her when he can.

Also somewhat related but I'm starting to want to give Ruka more pokemon. I already mentioned growlithe but I really really like the idea of her having a Clefairy too. I've always liked the idea of giving a character the "almost" mascot of Pokemon.
Slight bit of lore for Ruka's story. Pikachu is actually insanely rare. Pikachu was already rare in Kanto but a really popular TV show came out starring a Pikachu and suddenly everyone wanted one. That coupled with Red winning the league with one meant a lot of the wild population were caught. Vastly decreasing their numbers and making the remaining Pikachu wary of trainers. No matter how much she tries Rouka will never catch a Pikachu.
(Also I'm going to be going with Ruka instead of Rouka from now on. Sorry for the inconvenience.)

Shopping, shopping for cool outfits and shopping for cute outfits will be head of the list, much to the dismay of a certain normal type pokemon.
After that, mostly travelling throughout the region for inspiration. So visiting old places, visiting abandoned places and setting foot in every rural settlement Kalos has and hasn't to offer.

Grym was born in Kalos, Circe was born in Hoenn. I feel they'd both enjoy Johto as the weather there wouldn't be too hot or cold. Ectruteak would be a good place, as Grym would get to meet Morty. Also, it would be the perfect excuse to have the duo in kimonos.
Circe could probably catch a Skiploom or a Sunflora in Johto, and Grym might get the chance to befriend another ghost type (namely Misdreavus)

I was looking to take a break from my other hobby and found the thread while browsing /vp/. It (the other hobby) was already fanfiction adjacent, so I felt like I wanted to - and was capable enough to - participate in this while away from my usual activities.

That's the goal of this thread which got me interested, though at the same time Pokemon's been a series that has been with me since I was a kid. I'm not as crazy involved with the mainline series in recent years, but romhacks and fangames have been pretty fun in their place. The team I've made for my OC is half composed of my favorites (Chandelure & Scolipede), and half of Pokemon that did really well for me in Radical Red (Mega Sableye & Froslass) actually. My OC is 50% self insert like that, but that didn't seem like an issue for the crowd here.

I'm better at working within a given framework rather than making up new ideas wholesale, and find it more enjoyable. I'd love to make an entirely original story one day but so far it hasn't worked out. That being said I am attempting to make my own region so it is kind of a vaguely new setting. There is that. It's been really tough and trying to figure out the Pokemon that belong there is not easy, but I'm also enjoying myself.

It depends, Luke still sees Nox (his friend) as his friend. All he wanted was to go on an adventure with his friends and things started hitting the fan around the second gym.

Nox's sister (and the third player in this group) Suzi, has also been a point of stress for Luke because she trusted him with knowledge that she's psychic and not her brother who, was previously very very concerned with obtaining some sort of occult powers. He urged her to tell Nox on her own and she didn't until way later. He figured, "that's her business to tell, not mine." Nox didn't like that he didn't say anything and the wedge only grew deeper.

Many sessions later, Nox now has unlocked ghost type powers with the spooky plate thanks to the cultist, and Luke has become a rank 4 ranger in the grand underground and has a bit of a hero complex that sticks the idea in his mind he has to help defeat Regigigas and also prevent powers from being given back to humanity.

If Nox wins, Luke can probably accept this new reality and focus on stopping bad people with powers, and if Luke wins, Nox will likely hate him for a while. Either way, they're going to have to have a loong conversation after this.

Honestly, I just kind of always imagined myself taking part in the worlds of various fiction as a form of immersion. Turning those self-inserts into more nuanced characters and generating other characters to supplement them came later.

I have OCs for plenty of series, some being the same/similar "character" over multiple series a-la the "star system" and some more unique to their settings.

It's a lot easier to use the framework of an existing series and insert new characters/alter the lore to your liking than it is to weave an entirely new setting. Not to say I don't have ideas for my own settings, which I may migrate the frameworks of my existing OCs to later anyway. It's all part of the learning/evolution process of writing, imo. And even when you can make your own settings, participating in others' can still be fun.

Cause what else are you gonna do as a writer? Any story needs a main character to it. And also cause ever since I was a kid I wanted to make a game but I kinda gave up on that for a while cause of the sheer amount of stuff involved but I recently came back around to it with the realization that most people are only good at 1-2 things in a game development project and cause the current state of western games is fucking atrocious. But it's slow-going cause very few people realize making something good in the West right now requires hail marying it like the old days by working a 9 to 5 and then coming home to work on the game on their own time and money cause everyone is too poor to pay each other and corporate backing comes with the worst strings attached possible. But Emily was made even before I got back into that dream of mine but I'd be lying if I said she was never meant to become part of it again. Trainer Emily simply became a thing because I like Pokemon stuff and felt like doing some writing for it on the side using her as a main character as I use a single character across multiple settings. The "prime" Emily is a non-fandom setting/actually original character and Trainer Emily is just a fandom spinoff of her. So technically I already do both.

Technically she already did this to learn about Mega Evolution after she had beaten Ghetsis and after losing to Cynthia. This is probably before any Team Flare stuff happens in my timeline. But on top of learning about it she was often being dragged around Lumiose City by her sister Mari to see all the stores and fancy things. Sometimes she'd break away and explore the rest of the region with her sister Arai and try to find answers on the "strange evolution" that had occurred twice until finally coming up to the place that had answers to it that I forget the name of. From there a lot of time was spent training trying to master their stone-less Mega Evolution. A lot of it was reliant on trying to draw out the power without strictly snapping into a rage like before and it required lots of back and forth input as one of Korrina's Lucario would try to convey back fluctuations in Emily and Mawlie's energies during the attempted Mastery Process. They ended up staying in Kalos for a few months until they finally managed an actually controlled Mega Evolution. From there as a final test, Emily and Korrina battled, Mega Mawile vs her more in-control Mega Lucario. Mawlie won but mostly by the fact she was just much physically stronger and far more durable than Lucario but Emily and Mawlie's technique and battle experience still needed work so it was still somewhat of a heated battle regardless. Since then Emily worked on HOW she battled and has gotten much better since.

AI is bad at anything but the main shillmons but it would end up being Emily with her Aegislash.

Personally, I have been toying with the idea about a pokémon and his trainer being so close, they can develop new moves.
Only one problem, to teach these moves it will take time and effort from both parts. The trainer gets more synchronized with nature, giving him a better grasp both in body and mind, and the pokémon suffers a mental evolution (what if instead of doing X, I do Y?), creating and using new moves.
Depending on how close, and how difficult the new move is, it will take from a few days (or even hours) to months and years.

I wanted this take to give my OC only one cool move, one difficult and broken move (but only has one use), and one special move.
His ace is a Swampert, and he and him bonded for so long, both may as well be brothers. This allowed my OC to develop a new evolution: Ultima Evolution. This is only possible if the trainer and the pokemon work as one, but the evolution is still experimental, and very risky because the trainer "passes out" and fuses his soul with his pokemon, allowing it to break the limtis. But since it's experimental, it only last 3 turns, and all the hits do very subpar "Not very effective" damage. It only makes the pokemon cover it's weaknesses, and maybe a 100 BST, but it's not a threat. I wanted to use this OC as a master to another OC, a pokémon that can turn into a human. Yeah, I've been toying with lots of ideas, I need to paste them.

So I mentioned this before but there's this video series called "Waifu World Tour" and in the Gyaru Sushi video there's a scene that showed all the pokemon trainers that you could argue with Gyaru. Ending with Jynx. From there I was HIT with the idea of a Gyaru who owned a Gyaru Jynx and I immediately fell in love with it.

I'm VERY hesitant to make OCs based on existing franchises because I hate the idea of inserting a new character into an existing narrative. I would never wanna, for example, make a character that exists in Metal Gear or Tekken or something because they're so plot driven. However with Pokemon the main characters are, by default, blank slates. And while there are stories/lore a HUGE part of the appeal is to craft your OWN adventure. Pokemon actually kinda gives me the freedom to insert a character into the world and not feel out of place because Pokemon trainers are a Dime a Dozen.

I have a BUNCH of those. A comic idea about a Super powered teenager, A concept of a Magical Girl with shonen style fighting skills, an antisocial skunk girl slice of life comic, A super horny butterfaced dork trying and failing to get laid, A trio of weirdo goth girls, and many more. This is just something I'm doing for fun.

So the reason I'm changing it is actually cuz I'm a bit dumb.
The naming gimmick is that the trainer's given names sound like the names of their Pokemon. Jynx's Japanese name is "Rougela" so I named my trainer "Rouka" to match. But thinking about it "Rougela" is just the romanization of what the name is trying to say. In Japanese type it would actually look something more like "Rujura". (The way "Rou" works in Japanese is a bit different from how it works in English.) And I considered ignoring it cuz I'd already gotten used to calling her Rouka, it just feels appropriate to change her name to look more like Jynx's name. So I'm dropping the "O" for now. It's kinda dumb but I just wanna have them match.

honestly as little as i think about kalos in general its dawned on me bibi would love the place, she'd glide around lumiose on skates ccs style hopping into every boutique she sees for cute outfits/accessories, not to mention she'd be filming tons of pvs with her pokemon, i can also see her taking a detour to the battle chateau, or even flat out taking on the league because she'd kill for a chance to meet diantha, or visiting shalour and the tower of mastery to learn more about mega evolution since she can't use it herself yet

lol. the bibi deeplore is that the SV customization options didn't satisfy my character design autism enough and i wanted a cuter character to draw alongside the SV cast. i lurked a bit in these threads and felt inspired to actually try and put a more personal spin on the character though, and continuously posting ended up giving her a life of her own to the point im even emotionally invested in her now

i'm more an artist than a writer. creating my own setting is far beyond my league but using pokemon as a base and building off on it has taken away all the "stressful" bits of character creation and really just let me have fun with a franchise i find comfy and familiar

Actually fleshing out my OC Newton is kinda taking back seat to building his home region. I think I half jokingly taled about his mom being a Hex Maniac after a thread question, as one of the trainer classes directly associated with Ghost types. Nox wasn't originally Luke's Rival, but it has ended up that way. We are planning a time skip for after the regi fight before we tackle more story. We'll find a reason for our characters to begrudgingly work together if their friendship is unfixable. Which might be up to Suzi who has been the glue of the group so far.

I have recently tried to run a modern PTA game but I quickly lost interest as I don't care for how simplified it got. My table currently uses a modified PTU called Kairos edition. Shit is really good and I can't imagine using baseline PTU anymore

Enter Kouji. Just your typical eighteen year old Japanese delinquent with a huge chip on his shoulder. Now, this rough and tumble life story doesn't exactly sound like the sort of person who'd get sent to a top tier military university for the best would-be trainers in the world. And you'd be right to assume that, especially because Kouji HATES pokemon. A carryover grudge from his mother's death. So how the hell does he end up on the island? You see, because the program is meant to measure every possible parameter, there is another big factor besides raw skill or talent that needs to be looked at. Luck. So, the initiative has a special lottery program for a very small select few to try their chance of a lifetime.

So now this begs the question, why would Kouji, who loathes pokemon, even bother at the slim chance of getting? Well, that's where the secret spice comes in—he didn't. Somehow, for some reason, someone put his name into the figurative goblet of fire, and it just so happens... he was among the select few winners who got in.

I love this goddamn franchise, but at the same time have been frustrated with GF and TPC as whole for far too long, where it reached the point that I enjoyed reading people speculating about the next games far more than the games themselves... Back then, I also always avoided looking at Fakemons, out of fear of seeing something I liked too much and would never see in the official games, basically thinking that seeing fan creations, would decrease my enjoyment of the official thing, but turns out GF didn't need any help for that end... I'm getting too salty... Case in point: A certain day, I stumbled upon one of the old OC threads (when it still had a fair share of degenerates), and while I didn't like everything there, the idea of creating your own character and having them have their own adventures, without the restrictions of the games and whatnot was too perfect, so after lurking for a dozen threads, I eventually decided to make my own.
I love this goddamn franchise, but now it's more about seeing people being creative with it, rather than anything official.

Okay, I think its OBVIOUS that I love drawing characters other than their prime-age, sometimes younger, sometimes older versions of them. It came from my love for action shows where they loved to show us future versions of characters (Teen Titans, Danny Phantom, Ben 10) and how much they change compared to current state of characters.

So, initially Tweny was just a side-character I made for Whonner, since he was my og pokemon oc. Originally, Tweny was some pokemon-autist multiverse-traveler that just loves pokemon so much. He joined some evil organization, yada-yada skill beats his boosted pokemon, then Edgeverse came, Tweny got THREE retcons and became my main oc because I suddenly changed my mind and put Ben 10 back on #1 of my favorite things
Whonner was made because I loved Ice-types at that time the most and especially Weavile and was in huge aftermatch after reading Fire Punch (He based on "LIVE" face)

I also have bunch of other OC that are NOT pokemon related, but I never drew them, sigh

I disagree, if you have absolutely no concerns about what people find to be cringe then your character will either turn into Maribel Sue or Bloodedge the Minion. For instance, there was originally supposed to be a decapitation scene in my fic. I find that shit cool, but I recognize that other people don’t, so I wrote that out. I'll take that as a blessing to continue. As a simple preface, I'll recount the campaign so far with as much accuracy as possible, but through the lens of Kouji as though he were the main character (because I'm playing him). Additionally, I may have forgot specific details like what other characters said or did, so I'll just embellish a tiny bit or make broad assumptions since not everyone has revealed their backstories in character yet. Without further adieu...

While Kouji may have been entered into the lottery system for the university, it doesn't mean that he's forced at gunpoint to ACTUALLY go. However, his little sister, Emi, feeling extremely guilty over relying on her big brother and being the underlying cause of him being expelled from school (TLDR: Kouji's family situation is means bullies gonna bully, and because they can't bully him, they went after the next target), she pushes Kouji to live a little and to not look a gift Rapidash in the mouth. Begrudgingly, Kouji decides he'll indulge his sister's request and give it a shot. After all, if he doesn't like it (he won't), he can just bow out after a day or two... right?

Cut to the START of the campaign proper.

After taking a short plane trip to the Guam, he's stuck waiting for the rest of the academy's students before everyone embarks on a private ferry to get to the Aurelian Islands—diverse biodomes constructed entirely for the project's initiative. With the main one having the academy proper. After landing officially on school soil, Kouji is surprised to see that he island actually has a real city constructed just outside of the campus grounds. A place for the local pokerangers', teachers', and staffs' families to dwell during the extent of the project's lifespan, which is supposed to last a total of 3 years in total. Before it can even sink in just what he's gotten himself into, an academy staff member directs the students toward some bus shuttles.

Just as all of the students grab their luggage and belongings off the ship and start heading to the shuttles, something strange happens. Everyone hears a shout, and sees a fast moving ball of pink rage hurling themselves toward the throng of students—specifically, Kouji himself. It doesn't take more than a few seconds for the thing to reveal itself as a god damn Flamigo! Now OOC here, I myself helped developed the homebrew system alongside my DM/GM, and as an inside joke from a previous campaign (a two-hour debate on whether Flamigo is a badly designed pokemon), decided to throw the little fucker at me to force the players to come together rather than lone wolf it up.

Where was I? Right, the god damn flamingo. So, given that Kouji's choice of attire is his signature red jacket, a memento from his mother's career as a stuntwoman, the Flamigo literally sees RED and jumps down in front of him. In an astonishing turn of events, it looks him squarely in the eye and... scoffs? Well, unfortunately for it, Kouji immediately throws his shit on the ground, squaring up. A one-two jab later from our resident ass kicker, and now suddenly there's a pokemon battle of the wrong kind occurring in front of literally everyone. Damien, seeing a chance to tussle and make a new friend, jumps in and tries to pull the pink ball of death away from Kouji. Finnel on the other hand decides that perhaps they need some help, and tries to wrangle the thing without trying to hurt it. The rest of the boys stand idle watching with great interest as three people proceed to reenact the printer scene from Office Space. After giving it enough wacks Kouji manages to slap its shit in, and it is finally at this point everyone wakes up from their reverie and the local pokerangers jump in and help subdue the pokemon.

Kouji got away with a couple of scratches, but all in all a job well done. He thanks Damien And Finnel before nonchalantly picking his stuff up, muttering to everyone's surprise, "I fucking hate pokemon", before stomping away to get let on the bus. Well, this has earned some minor respect from THE BOYS so Kouji is begrudgingly finding himself surrounded on all sides by the PCs. People share a little back and forth about themselves and Kouji tries to drown them out by staring out of the window and watching the biome of the landscape change as we drive into the academy proper. Given this was a very long day of traveling, and the jet lag for a majority of the would-be students, the buses park directly in front of the multi-floored dorms, constructed in fashion similar to high-end condominiums. We're let off and told to make ourselves at home.

A full course meal is waiting for us, as well as the freeform ability to choose our own rooms, with the building itself reaching 11 floors of fully furnished dwellings. Of course, the girls get their own dorm as well, but we don't care because we're on our own Bizarre Adventure™. For reference, the rooms we picked are—

After settling in, Kouji throws himself on his bed and immediately starts fuming about how shit his luck is. When suddenly he hears a knock at his door—Liam, our resident dudebro, is standing out there completely drenched from head to toe. Before Kouji can even ask what happened Liam immediately asks for his help.

>Liam: "There's a weird hose inside the toilet and it sprayed me and won't stop. Can you help?"

Turns out the bathrooms come equipped with bidets, and now Kouji is on retard wrangler duty as he follows Liam back to his place to play plumber. Meanwhile, Finnel is hanging out with Damian in the downstairs eatery, Johnny Silver is unpacking, and Deus is ominously standing outside, watching from the treeline and muttering some weird chuuni shit like "Hmph, plebs. Why would you trust something so easily handed to you?"

Well, the day comes to a close without much fanfare. Besides Deus who decides to pull a Bear Grylls and sleep outside in a tree canopy, everyone else turns in for the night with the full expectation that their first day of classes finally begin. Now, in the morning, before Kouji can even think about sleeping in, he is immediately jolted awake by a loud banging on his door. It doesn't take three guesses to figure out who it is—Liam, wanting to walk together with him. Everyone eventually comes down to find a massive breakfast buffet, they eat, and we all head to school. For reference, classes start at 8 o'clock.

Also, quick note: I'm going to do a little retcon, now that the story is taking shape. (Light spoilers for Pokémon Tales: The Dragon Whisperer)

Pokémon Tales: The Dragon Whisperer will be set 3 years after S/M's events, with some events from US/UM happening after or in the middle of the story as Elio heads off to Ultra Space. I'm retconning Koa to be 14 at the start of the story, to bring him in line with the ages of most of the other kids in the Alola cast. HOWEVER, the way I depict Koa in most character interactions with other OCs, he's still 16, and in more of a travel phase after his adventures. I guess he'd take a little vacation from his trial to be in whatever shenanigans other OCs might put him through. And yes, by the end of the story Koa will be a fully-fledged Trial Captain.

I did forget something else that happened the first day. We got to pick our "starters". Effectively any pokemon with a final evolution with a BST less than 530 (with some wiggle room for backstory). We're also grabbing pokemon from some of the better fan made ones, like CAPX and Untamed. For reference, here is what we picked.

The way we ICl got our starters was basically picking from a list from a BOX in our room which transferred it to us. Kouji, true to his delinquent nature, never bothered to officially read or look at the list, and so flicked the screen so it'd move too fast to read and picked the first one that the selection landed on. Anyway, moving on...

The boys make their way to school, with Liam and Kouji getting there early. Interestingly enough, they're greeted by a strange scene at the bottom of the stairwell is a wheelchair-bound girl (picrel), seemingly unperturbed by the lack of a ramp. Liam and Kouji look at each other, but the former just shrugs and moseys on ahead... but Kouji? Well, beneath his rough exterior, he's got a heart of gold that he tries to hide from others. So he tells Liam he's gonna loiter and leans against the wall near the wheelchair girl. She looks up at him in interest, but they both don't exchange a single word as the students pass them by. It isn't until Deus, who woke up out in the wild and made his way into the school, that this changes. You see, Deus is the sort who likes being better than everyone else, so when he stumbles upon this scene, ALSO stands there in silence, not wanting to let someone outdo him in anything, even in loitering. Well, finally the girl speaks up and tells the two of us that she's just waiting for the teacher to help assist her up. Deus offers to grab her chair, and Kouji, embarrassed but determined to see his actions through, stays silent.

Well, with just a single minute left until class officially starts, both Kouji and Deus finally meet their teacher. A green-haired Mary Poppins lady who always smiles. She looks between everyone before saying, "Forgive me for running a little late, Elysia—oh, and look at that, you've got two gentlemen waiting for you. I'll be sure to overlook tardiness just for today."

Shortly after, she lets out an Arcanine and let's the Elysia climb on. Deus offers to grab her chair and Kouji just swaggers behind them in a sort of mood. Eventually we hit class and find a majority of the seats already taken. Not wanting to miss an opportunity, I take the not!protag seat. Feeling that he's been one upped, Deus scoffs, walks over behind the girl sitting in the front of our row (Caterina, picrel) and looks down at her. Without any word, he scoffs again and grabs the ENTIRE desk, scraping it against the floor and leaving the poor girl to think he'd rather straight up move than sit next to her. She's visibly upset and trying to hold back tears, but Deus is on the sigma grindset and parks himself behind a police-looking lady (Lei Qing).

Seeing that a girl is effectively being bullied, Kouji gets triggered but decide not to start a brawl, and so grabs his own desk and moves to the front (demonstrated by the seating arrangement in picrel). The girl looks at him both amazed and a little flustered by his actions, but smiles and introduces herself as Caterina. Kouji just replies in a grumble, "I didn't do it for you. I just wanted to be closer to the door," before averting his gaze. She smiles but says nothing else as the teacher coughs and tells us class is in session.

After doing class introductions and a long spiel of the history of the school, she warmly welcomes us with a mischievous glint in her eye. Then tells us we'll be formed into groups. However, there's a big problem—our (PC) group has one extra person compared to everyone else.

So with one extra person compared to every other group, there's suddenly a discussion with some of the other groups complaining and asking why we've got 6 people instead of the evenly split 5. The teacher smiles and says something along the lines of, "This is simply how it has been worked out. Trust me when I say this is also unexpected."

Kouji, unsatisfied with that answer, raises his hand and asks, "So does that mean there's an extra person? Does every class have a group like ours?"

The teacher narrows her eyes at him, almost breaking her sunny façade, seemingly giving him a wider grin and replying, "Kouji-kun, you should know better than anyone else, no?"

This cows him and he settles down, wondering now if him being forcibly entered into the school was some plot of some sort. Why? Who the fuck knows, but now he's got the class' eyes on him wondering what the teacher meant. Regardless, the teacher interrupts the discussion by clapping her hands and telling us it is time to do our first lesson—battling. She leads us out of the class and out to the battling fields which is a few minutes walk away. After telling us that these matches are scored and will be reflected on our grades, she pairs up each group. When it finally gets to us, we're placed on the opposite side of the arena and forced to look at our opponents, knowing this might make or break our record here at Aurelian Pokemon Academy—and that's where I'll leave the story off for today, since that was all entirely Session 1. Hope you guys liked reading the misadventures of THE BOYS. Since I'm taking a dramatic flair with my writing it ended up being pretty lengthy so maybe in the future I'll just use greentext format and condense it for readability if people would prefer it that way. Also picrel is the teacher. Regardless, thanks for reading my blog. If anyone has any questions or comments feel free to shoot them.

Alex’s localization would be “Arashi Tanegashima”, roughly translating to “Storm Gun”. The Tanegashima was the earliest Japanese firearm, it was their take on the arquebus introduced to them by the Portuguese, and “Arashi” just means storm. The last name is a reference to Alex’s gun and his first name is symbolic of how he is sometimes depicted as more of a destructive force of nature.

Lower costing ones would be around 400-1000 dollars, but I imagine his sister bought him something around the 2000 range, or whatever the equivalent of that is in Pokedollars.
I'm still trying to come up with more physical traits for him, but I imagine him blond and very thin and frail looking. Not quite skeletal, but getting there.
I've also thought of other Pokemon for his team; in addition to his Quilladin, he'd have a Venonat, Sandshrew, and Skitty. As a trainer and a battler he's probably hit a plateau at the 3rd gym, and though he tries to train his team, he struggles balancing that and his street performances.

Glad you guys liked it. Me and the DM collectively created over 200+ characters for the academy, including rangers, staff, teachers, etc, and there was a lot more going on during the session but I had to condense it strictly to Kouji's POV or else it'd take forever. Think next time I'll pre-write the second session up so it isn't so spaced out throughout the day.

low effort comic while i try and figure out how i would write/characterize bibi pre-character development, she's supremely confident in her ability as a trainer, justifiably so, but her attitude is downright ridiculous before she gets a painful reality check from the area zero mauling.

i also kinda feel like this would mesh well with kieran's character arc what with how he puts the protagonist on a pedestal. one of the few things i wish was handled a bit differently with him is the fact that he never seems to be quite over that idolization, so dragging bibi through the mud for a bit during the later parts of her story works out well for the both of them.

I feel like if Alex ever met Kieran he would set his sights on breaking him in every way possible. Spiritually, mentally, even physically if he could get away with it (he probably couldn’t though). Don’t even know why this came to my head, it’s just the first thing that did. Maybe he gets paid by Blueberry to do a special clinic in order to teach some advanced battle tactics (that really aren’t even that advanced, what, do you think he’s going to give away his actual secrets?) and he takes notice of Kieran becoming obsessed with Florian, leading to Alex wanting to crush Kieran and show him how weak he really is. Would this actually happen? Probably not, but it’s fun to think about.

Koraidon is probably the only major threat and I'm sure Alex's dragons could take it on. Glimmora, Overqwil, or Weavile could handle the Skeledirge, and Ribombee would be absolutely skullfucked by Revavroom. her nonverbal commands are good at mixing people up and she's tactically minded in battle. it could go either way imo but both parties have to work for the victory

i've thought about this before and come to the conclusion that even if bibi really enjoys watching contests she'd refrain from entering because she uses all her energy thinking of how to make things hit hard, fast, or both, not how to make moves and pokemon look pretty in battle. that being said if she did have to enter a contest i feel like that's what she'd capitalize on, surprising the audience with either displays of just how tough/cool a cutesy pokemon like ribombee can be if you set it up right or just blowing the crowd away with sheer displays of power/destruction from koraidon or dirge. that being said though she's sure to appear in striking outfit to match her partner

tesoro wins the crowd with gholdengo's make it rain, dressed to the 9s in something that screams regal. his excellent care is on display here because that pokemon is polished so bright it puts lumioses tower to shame

That's just the first scenario that came to my mind. Kieran isn't exactly sociopath material, but perhaps Alex might try to mentor (manipulate) him and pass on enough tips and tricks so he can crush Florian and Bibi. Alex wouldn't like his team, though, he has a distaste for humanoids (Grimsnarl and Incineroar) and dopey Pokemon (Dragonite, Porygon Z, and Poliwhirl/wrath). Weirdly enough the only Pokemon of Kieran's that Alex would have respect for is Hydrapple.

It's pretty crunchy, but once you get it down it's not bad. Definitely need the Google sheets to automate a lot of it. You get four classes which have 7 features (including the class itself) and there are some really fun and busted combos like priority Swords Dance + an Attack

Koa would actually have a passing interest in contests. He’d make use of Clangorous Soulblaze, giving the audience a combo dance with Mo-o where they show off their power, coordination and musicality. Imagine a stage filled with the chimes of a Kommo-o’s scales, the rattle of its tail, and then the audience gets to see the power of friendship as both the dragon and the dragon whisperer do a combined boogie.

I think Hula, the Milotic, would take the cake, though. Koa would make sure to create a wonderful experience with her whirlpools, swimming through huge waves, Aurora Beams and ice all over the place, Aqua Rings to jump through… it’d be pretty cool.

duly noted! in all honesty how she styles her uniform is dependent on what point she's at in her story, for example from the beginning til area zero, she wears what i usually draw her in (standard uniform+jacket and pins on her tie), then in ID she just wears the blueberry tracksuit with her hair down and no modifications to sorta reflect she's at a low point, and then once that section wraps up she throws that sweater and some boots over the team star uniform (which itself is a modified naranja uniform)

also lmao i really don't need more excuses to draft a billion outfits but that's definitely a fun idea! modeling for tulip, going to some fancy formal rich person event with nemona, or cosplaying with penny all offer great excuses for extra outfits

Thinking of replacing Dragalge with Glimmora, because of its higher BST and ability which sets up toxic spikes. The idea is that Alex basically lets it be a punching bag in order to release the spikes for Overqwil to swoop in and finish the job, with Glimmora itself serving as a backup if Overqwil gets downed.

I don’t know why, I feel like giving Koa a Milotic was such a good idea because it shows he’s open-minded and he also has a soft side to him. I do intend to show off all of his team members in the stories, their personalities, skill sets and what their dynamics with Koa are.

Because in normal circumstances, the "reality check" would happen before she even meets with Suguri (Kieran), or she saying stuff like "I can do anything (bar miracles, cue music)!" is something she does even after said reality check?

A side plot of Alex’s story is him gradually becoming a talented multi-instrumentalist. He never actually gets into the studio, however, because his Pokemon Journey gets in the way. also bibi's timeline is TM->main game->ID since you can actually play TM before beating SV proper! it also makes more sense to me for suguri's "fall" so to speak to mirror bibi advancing through the league. to lay it out clearly it's like bibi's overconfidence and borderline mania sort of bring out his feelings of inferiority. come ID though, bibi changes a lot, she's suddenly less energetic and peppy, she seems to frighten more easily, she makes bad decisions and it eats at him seeing her be weak because why is his unbeatable rival suddenly so normal, human, and vulnerable? it's a lot for both of them to grapple with that their perceptions of themselves and each other have been wrong the whole time.

she's past saying something so narcissistic after area zero, but once she finds herself again after ID she still brags a bit, at worst she's a bit cocky but nothing overblown

From session 2 onward we finally get to the classes and some tension is introduced, but overall it remains the same since the PCs keep trying to overcome the bad. I'm halfway through writing up the next story but it'll be a little before I'm done since I need to consult the DM to see if he kept the notes for some stuff that happened.

AI does a lot of work, but I'm the one who prompt wizarded 90% of how the characters look and just pulled the gacha until I got what I was looking for, and even edited the defects out. I was thinking that Sandshrew was caught earlier on in August's journey and didn't mind the performances because he enjoyed battling gyms and was fine with sticking around for that. But after August hits his plateau Sandshrew gets more irritated that he would rather perform for money than train for a rematch at the gym he's stuck on. It will play into August's arc of learning to balance his time and life and get back into battling, probably ending with Sandshrew evolving.

She is a Rouka pokemon through and through. Also she loves sweet scents so much she instantly falls in love with bellossom. Together they can create a sweet scent so powerful it deals damage, especially to pokemon with strong sense of smell.

So I actually drew this on my computer this morning. But right when I saved it my computer crashed and I lost the file. Ive been depressed about it all day so I decided to draw this on paper while I was at work. I'm still pissed but at least it's done.

Funny thing, a mate of mine got into AI recently (got both A1111 and Fooocus installed locally) and he's already made like 3 loras of his AI OC. That's some autism put to good use, maybe you could also give that a go, see how it's like.
Meanwhile all I do is run the same general prompt recipe I ran since like 2021, and manually fix/adjust things on pics that look promising.

I also use counterfeit30v30 as the base model to help influence full body pictures/hands/etc. Easynegative and badhandsv4 are my negative embeddings.

Honestly you can do it with a worse machine, but my gens only take about 10 or so seconds at 512x768 upscaled to 1152x1728.

I managed to find the lora, that I do know how to use, and I think that what I installed on my PC was also stable diffusion. It's been a good long while. And after a quick look up as to what a counterfeit30v30 is I think I know what it is and how to add it too.
