>Kalos StartersWith Megas returning, I think its incredibly likely these three will get one. So it would make sense just to keep them as the starters. Plus, these three have not been select-able since their debut games in X and Y.
With PLA, it came out JUST after BDSP, so it made sense to change them up. Why present the same three starters just two months apart?
However, in the original X and Y, you chose a starter that could not Mega evolve, then could choose another starter from a second set that COULD Mega Evolve. As a call-back, they could easily do the same thing, but with the Kalos trio being the second set.
Though IF they choose to do a call-back (Remember, they don't HAVE to) they could easily pick Kanto again or Hoenn starters this time if they bring back ALL Mega Evolutions.
>Other StartersIf we do get other starters, its likely they could get regional forms, but also possible they just get Mega Evolutions instead. I don't see them doing both though.
Serperior makes a ton of sense. Not only is it inspired by France, but its straight-up in X and Y (A design on a gate) so incredibly likely. Only caveat is if they decide not to repeat starters from the Gens chosen for PLA (No Gen 2, 5, or 7)
Empoleon is almost certain. French inspriation and it comes from Gen 4, which did not get regional forms in PLA. Only caveat is the opposite of Serperior, being if they decide to only roll with Gens 2, 5, and 7. Sets up a 3rd Legends game, too.
Cinderace fits the bill. Soccer is huge in France, Cinderace was the most popular/shilled Gen 8 starter, and Gen 8 is definitely on the board now. (Not too soon like with PLA). Not even G-Max holds it back.
Blaziken is the weird one. Thematically it makes sense, as Roosters are an icon of France. And it'd be a huge call-back to Torchic being a gift in the original X and Y. Only problem is it already has a Mega Evolution. And that issue has layers.
