after using Dugtrio in Stadium, i will say that Rock Slide does piss poor damage on anything that isn't weak to Rock but being the fastest Electric immune pokemon in the game is a great boon

God. This guy MADE my scarlet play through. I don't know how or why but somehow it ended up being my tankiest pokemon. In comp it dies to a stiff breeze but in game it was unbreakable. That along with leach seed clutched me quite a few matches.

Shedinja is so fun to use it honestly doesn't even feel like a shitmon. Sure it instantly dies to half the fucking shit in the game, but that still means it's FUCKING INVINCIBLE to the other half of the shit in the game. It also really encourages you to use shit that you wouldn't otherwise bother with in singleplayer, like encore or taunt, to keep enemies from using moves that can hurt it.

It's only OU in gen 3 (now). It *was* OU in everything 3-7 before it got banned. I think in gen 8-9 they quick banned the trapping abilities before the gen even started.

I unironically like to use Rock Smash in Heracross. it´s not a horrible stab move for it in a casual playthrought and I´m glad when I´m in front of a smashable rock because I have my parter who can destroy it for me and unlock another part of certain route with a hidden item. I don´t usually give Rock Smash to a Pokémon that I use in my main team, Heracross is the exception.

During Gen 6, I took this lil madam to the Tiny Tourney held online. Prior to the event people were scared the mushroom mons would run rampant over the meta. The first time I played Emerald nearly 2 decades ago, I didn't expect my choice of Water type would be Crawdaunt, it's a slow, frail mixed attacker but it does fine enough in game for it to not feel like dead weight, it's also one of those Pokemon that has only gotten stronger with time.

Dugtrio is one of those Pokemon that’s only good in competitive due to hyper specific stuff rather than having generally good attributes all around (ie. Tyranitar is good all around with good stats besides Spe, good resistances, sand, movepool, etc.)
Arena Trap is the only thing keeping Dugtrio relevant in PvP and trapping abilities are almost entirely useless in game playthroughs.
