Galar had Cinderace as a shillmon, Dragapult, and some random japanese appreciation for Intelleon, but that was about it. Nothing else really stood out from Gen 8. Meanwhile, Meowscarada, Tinkaton, Maushold, Ceruledge, Clodsire, Hydrapple, Ogerpon, and many others are pretty strong widley liked additions.
Theres more to it than just the dex naturally, but thats no doubt a part of it.
