There are pokemon in other regions that feel like they would fit in another region more based on their cultural inspiration. What are some pokemon that comes to mind for you? For me, Sawk and Throh would fit in Johto.

That's completely irrelevant. They're based on japanese onis and it fits the traditional and superstitious japanese themed region that is Johto.

NTA, but the Sky Pillar is a far more relevant towering object.
If it's meant to be a more specific tourist destination, then Devon Corporation would be pretty grand while also being more noteworthy.

Though I'd also note that Alola fails on both counts by advertising an entire island and not even one that has a particularly tall landmark.
With that being the case, Hoenn should also cheat and advertise both Mt. Chimney and Sootopolis.

The Sootopolis crater is iconic and unique but Mt. Chimney is too generic and Sky Pillar is not as recognizable or distinct. The shuttle might not be the best but it is unique to Hoenn.

By that logic, Kanto shouldn't be using the SS Anne because Hoenn also has cruise ships like it. Alola is literally just a shoreline with palm trees, and that picture of Mt. Coronet doesn't do a good job of making it particularly distinct from other mountains in the series. Take Giratina away and add a Clefairy and suddenly it's Mt. Moon instead.

Likewise, having Groudon in an ad for Mt. Chimney or Rayquaza next to the Sky Pillar would make either plenty identifiable by the standards of these posters.
