>>55670864It's obviously an April Fools. The point is they don't have to adhere to the same family friendly guidelines that TPC set up for Pokemon, and as a result can lean fully into the ultra autistic furry fanbase with fanservice like this even if as a joke.
It shows they're understanding their potential as an IP that's "Pokemon, but with older audiences in mind." Every other Poke'clone that's tried doing the same ends up being too shy to actually make Pokemon styled monsters and so never quite capture the same appeal. People want to fuck Vaporeon, they don't want to fuck whatever the hell stupid designs you'd find in the likes of Cassette Beasts are.
Palworld knows their fanbase and isn't afraid to give them what they want. That isn't to say TPC should change course and do the same - they too realize that they need to appeal to older audiences and are doing so in their own way with things like Pokemon Concierge which targets older viewers while still being innocent.
But what Palworld succeeds in is filling the vacuum Pokemon will never attempt to address in any serious manner. The closest we get is a few nods with waifumon designs showing TPC knows furfags are a big driving force in their success.
