You play the singleplayer campaign and then when it's finished you play a non-rng game online.
Pokemon is fucking terrible for "competitive" pvp.

Not just showdown tho, it's pokemon in general. Can you imagine is jumping in Mario just had a 5% chance to not work? Press the A button and just... nothing. And then pokemon sells 10 trillion copies.

You're right anon. There are other moves with the same power and flinch chance and 100% accuracy, it's pretty silly, especially since the few special birds aren't that great.

Pokemon mon is a B-Tier single player RPG and a D-Tier competitive game.
You just enjoy the basic story and collecting monsters, and once you've completed everything, you drop the game and pick up a new one.
