Actually now that I think about it, what if Ash is their kid? It would make sense since Ash was adopted and his dad was disappointed in him. I mean, Roy is basically already a world champion in under a year meanwhile it took Ash 27 years just to barely defeat Leon even with extra gimmicks and even with Leon not taking the battle seriously.

This is without a doubt the saddest thread hijacking by Asshfarts I've witnessed since his time was over,. All the doomcoping going nowhere became apparently too much for them to handle. Gohfags were absolutely sure their guy would stay and even they took the ending runtime of their character much more gracefully.

He wasn't a stalker(that I remember), he was a socially awkward but still extroverted geek. His entire gimmick was strategizing using real game mechanics, which involved doing background research on his opponents to form strategies against them, which some people may have interpreted as "stalker". Which is why he should have been the one to beat Ash and then beat Tobias. He could have showcased real strategy against legendaries and demonstrate that even shitmons can beat legends with the right strategy, just like in the games.

Of course, against Ash it didn't matter since Ash would just plot armor his way through, but whoever was responsible for writing him seemed to care much more than any other writer about proper pokemon battles.

I still remember the day when they announced it was happening. I was there, doing some football stuff when the news came through and I all but leapt off my chair in excitement. Finally. Finally, Ash was being allowed to retire. My lifelong dream come true. For too long he had been kept around to be humiliated year upon year but yeah he made it and even better, he was allowed to finally retire!

I decided to stay around for the first four episodes, just to see what would happen when you get your wish. And it turned out to have been better than I expected. Not without its flaws but still pretty good. It just reminds me of those old shoujo anime I watched as a kid. Not too sure on the injection of streamer shit but eh, Dot isn't obnoxious.

Back from the nibbling on sweets. I think it's alright for what is basically sweets with merch branding. Chocolate was actually the good part but the waffle was barely notable from the taste. You know these cheap ass waffles who aren't disgusting by how they taste but are fucking bland to the point where you can't tell how much you are? Those types of waffles. 1/10 for the waffle, 6/10 chocolate. Got Amethio first. Gonna jinx it and call Liko to be one of them in the remaining three, to symbolize their missing presences. I finally got the time to watch the new episode after a busy weekend. I'll say first that I wasn't looking forward to the new arc, because the Lucius stuff is what drew me to Horizons after the dust settled. The filler arc was fine -- it's Pokemon, that's how things go -- but I was really waiting for them to get back to the plot. Suddenly transitioning into adapting the game seemed like a step backwards, although the way they made the transition made sense. I'm glad that it looks like the RVT will still be on screen from time to time, and if they treat this like a training arc rather than an Ashnime-era game adaptation plot, I think I'll like it regardless.

Here are things I liked about the episode:
>SV's artstyle has adapted really well to the anime. I had no idea how people like Larry or Poppi would come across without looking goofy as fuck.
>Friede taking ownership of the Heroes' Pokeballs means that we won't be getting pop-ins to save the kids as much.
>Liko won a battle, straight up, decisively, with little bullshit in the way; a good sign of things to come.
>They explained terastalization mechanics for the anime, and Friede using his Tera Orb one time outside of Paldea doesn't break with the canon in any significant way, meaning the flamebaiter has been btfo'd again.
>The Explorers are still here in pog form.
I don't like Rika talking about the League as if to foreshadow its inclusion. I would hope the climax of Horizons is RVT vs. Explorers, and that they aren't tacking on a League tournament at the end. Doing that when it's not needed dragged down SM.

Okay so before the last arc's finale the gang finally arrives at Paldea, they precisely get to some beach close to an island, and that island is later revealed to be close to Levincia. They also were traveling above other lands before that and we even got Dot's mother there, she was just around and Friede could pick her up with Charizard without even stopping the Brave Asagi.
That means those episodes took place around here, so Dot's family must be from Kalos, right? So

Quaxly is a paldean pokemon and Dot isn't even from a school that gives starters from all around the world like Liko and Ann. Rockruff on the other hand is native to Alola, Galar, Paldea and Kitakami.

Still, Rockruff is in many regions just in the games (the anime adds way more variety of pokemon per region), one of them being Paldea, and Dot's mother has a spanish name but was found in a region close to the red circle here >>55738230 It's likely they are kalosian or paldean, no reason for them to be alolan. In fact since Rockruff is also in Kitakami, Dot is clearly meant to parallel Kieran in design and they most likely will have to touch Teal Mask content someday they could even be kitakamians around the world

Maybe they should have put it on fucking TV like normal companies do? Batch dumping a gazillion episodes doesn't work anymore, binge culture is dead. It arguably affected discussion of the Fallout show.

Linear TV's a dying medium in the west, especially for children or teen animation. Nickelodeon used to be the biggest channel for this sort of thing, but even CartoonNetwork and Disney are cycling through shit from 10 years ago mixed with a couple of new shows back to back. The fact that CartoonNetwork was willing to lose the entire Pokemon library after XY shows how limited the format is for what they want Anipoke to accomplish. Streaming is the long game, and Nintendo's always been good about the long game. Sure, they could find a streaming deal that lets them do streaming and TV (maybe Paramount+ for Nick, Max for CN, or Disney+ for Disney), but Netflix has the largest reach and is the most widely available. At the end of the day, Anipoke is a commercial for merchandise and the games. The platform needs to be as big as possible, and Netflix trumps the other streaming platforms by a wide margin.

This doesn't excuse how fucking dog awful their actual distribution on Netflix has been. The dub should've been ready online as soon as MPM ended in the west, at the very latest. They used to have one or two episodes ready as teasers even when the current anime was going back when it was on KidsWB or CartoonNetwork.
