One of the best RPGs of all time. Monster designs, atmosphere, music (best in the franchise), characters, gameplay, postgame, all fucking amazing. Unreal that it gets so much shit here

The plot of 2 is silly and so are all the goofy roadblocks.
This game doesn’t really shine until after the credits when you can start playing. Its no wonder pokemon fans love “postgame” more than anything.

/vp/ contrarians only decided to hate Gen V after it was clear how beloved it was. That's how you can tell they're fake haters, if you couldn't tell from the ridiculous nitpicks they take up against it and no other games with the same elements they claim to hate.

they went through a lot of trouble to tune gen 5 pokemon to their region and the balance of 2 is all over the place as a result of them throwing that out
and the story of 2 is neo-nu pokemon levels of bad

my issue with gen 5 isn't so much that it's bad but the fact that it does literally nothing that isn't done better in another game.

I have no reason to ever play it unless I want to bore myself mashing A at trainers and tutorials. It's like a worse gen 7.

Pokemon is not a bad RPG. It has far better gameplay than games I see worshiped all the time like Redditbound. People only shit on Pokemon's gameplay for one reason: to look smart.

I used to have fun with Pokémon before dexit, so I'm still around.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating the actual good Pokémon games like B2W2, HGSS and etc, but there's a lot of better JRPGs around.
I think Pokémon fans should try to play more games.

Earthbound is overrated yeah, people wouldn't even care about it if it wasn't for Smash. It's still a solid game though, but there's still some better SNES JRPGs around.
