How will Gen 8 be remembered? Will people look back to it as "the time when was still good" like what currently happens with X and Y?

No generation has had as much backlash as Gen 8. If Game Freak ever gets us to a point where Gen 8 is seen as "a time when the games were still good" this franchise deserves to go under.

there's going to be Gen alpha kids who have nostalgia for it and defend it cause they grew up with it, that's inevitable and will happen with every generation. but I think for the majority of people it's reputation will remain unchanged. the switch games mark an easy point for people who were growing disenfranchised with Pokemon to draw a line and step away, what with Dexit and being on a new console. they probably won't enjoy the retroactive appraisal that XY or even SM got, because all the games from RBY to SM can be played on the same console (3ds) and all Pokemon can be transferred up to SM. do you can tie a ribbon around all those games and play the "golden age" forever, while the switch games will be seen as the start of a new era that only kids and the most addicted superfans play.
