>>55814822Bug typing is generally bad defensively and offensively unless paired up with a specific secondary type like Steel for defense where it ends up with one weakness, or a secondary typing that comes bundled with good coverage as part of the default package like Fighting. The latter is less of a problem because Dragon at least in Gen 3 came bundled with a ton of coverage, but swapping Ground STAB for Bug STAB would absolutely be an offensive downgrade regardless.
Flygon currently relies on a lot of swap-ins and likes to set up if it's running physical sets, so going Bug/Dragon would actually hurt it defensively in most cases other than losing a quad Ice weakness for a normal Ice weakness. But it's also no longer immune to Electric, and is weak to Rock. Resisting Ground instead of being neutral is irrelevant when it only has Levitate.
