I'm still disappointed they didn't make you fight this thing as it's own pokemon. Just make it a steel type with moves from groudon's set, high-ish stats, and some custom glass-canon ability that fits with it being a janky robot held together with duct tape and shoelaces but powerful enough to be a legitimate threat for a few turns. They already had a bunch of custom stuff for shadow pokemon, why not? It basically falling apart as the battle goes on would still make it work as a joke boss too, just a less disappointing one than a bumbling lab assistant in a mech sending out his sunflora.
