They're getting mega evolutions, regardless what gets used because they outright teased its return witht he symbol/sound effect combo at the end the tgrailer, but the lore of the land will lilkely relate closely to real-world France regarding settlement timelines, thus Lumiose isn't gouing to be an uninhabited wilderness with regionally-adapted creatures everywhere, but likely a haven of rare mega stones along with the ubiquitous common-as-fuck ones that persisted until the modern era displayed in XY.

Clefable and Quagsire regularly see high placements from Unaware and Magic Guard alone despite having stats that make most PU mons look like Ubers. More likely they give it a mediocre to decent ability and move with a weird stat spread resulting in a hisui decidueye situation instead
