My Grandfather used to be really big into 'Peanuts'. The Comic strip. We only know it as the crappy series about the dog and the bald kid, but it was apparently one of the most blackpilled doomer humor comic strips you could find in like the 60's or so. Then, it got popular, all of the edge was filed off, and it became the painfully unfunny holiday special vehicle it is known for now that has zero fans who are aged less than 80 years old.

Pokemon is turning into that, and I'm watching it happen in real time. I would rather the series just fucking die than watching it go through that kind of transformation into mass market garbage with all of the edge filed off and all of the quality degraded to be as cheap as possible. I don't want to be sitting in a recliner when I'm 80 reminiscing about the 'good' pokemon games that came out 50 years ago. But that sure as fuck seems to be what will happen at this current rate.
