He passed a few years back, and the last Christmas before he died, he gave me a copy of a card he accidentally ruined when I was a kid. I didn't think about it much after it happened, but it really ate at him that he ruined that card since he saw how much I liked it. It's a really nice memory to have of him, that after all those years, he still wanted to right something he did wrong. Granted we bonded over a lot of different things, but that one really stuck with me. As much as I hate on how bad modern Pokemon is, I can always look back at memories like that fondly. And pretty much all of the friends I've had since high school have all bonded over a shared love of Pokemon. My life would be drastically different if I never got into those stupid little creatures.
