>>55903048This. If they had more variety it'd be fine. Rocket grunts could use a bunch of pokemon similar to the trainers on neighboring routes to imply they were stolen. Hoenn has a ton of water types that team Aqua grunts could use instead of all of them having carvana, Magma grunts wouldn't have as many options even with both fire and ground but there's still enough more than just numel to mix it up with and adding stuff like cacnea as a desert dweller would still fit their "more dry land" theme. Nothing about Galactic or Plasma really screams type affiliation so you could go as wild as you want with their pokemon, but their names imply psychic/fairy and electric/fire respectively if you needed to pick something. Team flare being all about fashion and cleansing the world to make something more beautiful could have used popular/expensive/stylish pokemon like eeveelutions, porygon, and the different furfrou trims or vivillon patterns since fire would be pretty redundant by now though it remains an option. Team Skull were supposed to be island challenge failures/losers with no place in society so a wide variety of their local common pokemon for each island would work well. Stopped playing after SM but from what I gather from the posts during gen 8 team Yell was some gym leader's fan club, so mainly using that gym's type with the leader's pokemon being common choices would make sense, however even then it shouldn't be more than 30% of the grunts using them. No clue what the deal with team Star is, since gen 9 made almost everyone wear a uniform except gym leaders from what I've seen I haven't sussed out who's who or what pokemon would fit while fixing the 50 zubats problem.
