Honestly at a loss, I love its design and use it in playthroughs often when available but that typing is unsalvagable for anything, let alone what is suppose to be a wall. Boots and access to toxic are nice and all but I wish they could have just let it be bug or give it some OP ability.

You see, that easily could fix just about every issue but that's implying GF giving another non shillmon or kantomon a mega. I feel like realisticallt L:A was the best bet it had to get anything and it didn't, it's more frustrating since they have clearly shown they're willing to go back and alter pokemon but only in the most minute and pointless ways.

I don't think anything can save Metagross by this point, like, I could update its movepool and swap its ability for something that helps it kill stuff or live longer but that won't suddenly make all the powercreep go away. Something like Levitate/Gear Shift/EQ would be funny at least, or No Guard and stuff like Stone Edge.

Metagross was actually a decent pokemon in VGC Regulation F after finally receiving good STABs for the first time since gen 5. If you want to bring the classic "Agiligross" set to modern standards, the answer is to give him shift gear. Clear body is a wonderful ability to have on setup sweepers. But let's be real here, for as long as mega metagross exists, he can't have that move. Even without shift gear, mega metagross will be once again borderline uber tier next gen with its aurora veil crushing psychic fangs and an even more consistent heavy slam - both being further boosted by tough claws.

Chandelure is good though. Not being competitively viable/used is different from being bad. Chandelure hits hard, has a good ability, okay speed tier and not completely made of paper. If I were to buff it, I would just give it Levitate

honestly, that set wouldn't even be good. focus energy + sniper results in a crabhammer with effectively 225BP, while a +2 sheer force liquidation is effectively 221BP already, on top of perfect accuracy and higher power before setup.

This really should just be how recharge moves always work. They're completely unusable as they currently are and I'm not convinced they would be unbalanced at all if the punishment for not oneshotting is a completely free turn for the opponent. The Gen 1 mechanic for this feels so nice and intuitive.

Vespiquen is kinda defined by her three Order moves, Attack Order, Defend Order and Heal Order. Make these three work with Stockpile mechanics.
Then subsequentially change Stockpile mechanics to only decrement Stockpile count by 1 upon usage of the purge moves, at cost of reducing Spit Up/Attack Order's base power to 75 damage per stack. Gives both Vespiquen and Stockpile mons an interesting gameplan with room for variety, for example you can opt to run a regular attack or recovery over purge moves to have immediate power or/and not use up the stacks. Vespiquen has both Roost and Bug Buzz/Air Slash to do that with.

It's unsalvageable with a x4 weakness to Bug and terrible stats. Pick and choose any combination of these changes to make it better.

>Change to Dark/Poison (some cuttlefish are poisonous)
>Topsy-Turvy gets +1 priority
>Prankster for Topsy-Turvy/Destiny Bond/Taunt/Trick/Screens
>Access to Parting Shot
>Access to Power Trip as a stab to make use of Close Combat boosts
>Access to Psycho Boost for a real psychic stab
>Access to Close Combat for a defensive alternative to Superpower

It's never getting Overheat/Leaf Storm/Draco Meteor, so that's not even worth considering. And Hyperspace Fury is locked onto Hoopa-U.

I would buff Rivalry. Remove the penalty for facing the opposite gender, buff damage to 50% and add in a 50% reduction to incoming attacks too.
Every single Rivalry Pokemon bar Haxorus is shit too so this wouldn't even break the game.

I think reintroducing Berserk Gene would be a cool development for lots of Own Tempo Pokemon (since BG boosts attack but adds confusion and OT makes mons resistant to confusion)
Most OT pokemon are slow and bulky or special attackers so its not like it would make a lot of pokemon immediately overpowered but for the ones that it would work on it would add an interesting alternative way to use them

you're taking 3x the damage from knock off that a-muk would and you lose STAB on your own knock off, do boots really make up for that?
