Don't bother, OP. GF has long resigned Ice to total irrelevancy. I wouldn't be surprised if Gen X retcons all the Ice Type pokemon and moves to Water now that we have Fairy, an actual good type, to shit on Dragon instead.

at the same time though, i don't think any of this fixes ice as a whole because there are some really strong, frail attackers who use the ice type just right. really the problem with ice types is the pokemon attached to them but this thread's not about that

Ice melts when it comes into contact with anything that isn't as cold or colder than itself. It should be weak against all types except itself.
