The last two games they've made have been great. A true step in the right direction and a show of good-faith effort to listen to their fans.
They have earned my money back after I skipped gens 7 and 8

They have no idea how to make games
This is why all their non-Pokémon games sucked and flopped. It’s not that they don’t need to try for Pokémon, but they are just an incompetent company.

I'm pretty sure even Gen 8 and 9 actually do want you to play them, and aren't trying to be a half-baked VN, even if they are still trash. I slightly respect 8/9 slurpers more than alolasomes for that reason.

This. If it weren't for Pokémon, Game Freak probably would've gone defunct decades ago. Little Town Hero is a game bad enough to kill entire companies and we all know about SV's game performance, but Game Freak survived those because of Pokémon's brand name alone.
