How to fix dex bloat

Pokemon must become like fortnite
Gens 1-10 should be considered "Chapter 1". Gen 4 for example should start being considered "Chapter 1, Gen 4"
After gen 10, they should reset the entire universe and remove all gen 1-10 pokemon, gen 11 shall be "Chapter 2, Gen 1"
Every 10 gens the universe will reset so that there isn't dex bloat, this is the necessary ultimate dex cut

Only an idiot thinks "dex bloat" is a problem. Well for a Regional Dex, maybe, but not for how many species are in the game overall. Having more Pokémon is having more options. Every Pokémon main game should have every Pokémon from the previous gen able to be transferred.

Alola proved you can juggle a regional dex of 400 or so, but I think a decent size is about 250-300 with a third of them being newmons. Just at the range where it *feels* unlimited and fresh but also able to have a gist of what the player will have available to them at key points in the game. Unfortunately in a post-dexit world the trend seems to be cramming as many of the motherfuckers as possible in rotation. Like how Scarlet and Violet still has Sunflora when it's completely redundant since Lilligant is right there and does everything it does 10x better, along with a dozen other grass type pokemon that can be found just as early and completely mog it at everything it does, like Scovillain in sun. That's the big reason why I'd like to have natdex back, so we can downscale the regional dex a bit for flavor and transfer/special event everything else.

Anon, it's just been a strict 400 not counting dlc.

Anon, if you think like that then the game would be reduced to about 30 or 40 pokemon.
