>>57429559>>57429562You see, back in the day being a furry meant that you had interest in anthropomorphic characters, animal activities, stories with humanoid characters and animal traits.
Over time this line was muddled. You see, Dysney started to make movies with anthropomorphic characteristics, so more "furry" content started to reach the mainstream media. Videogames also helped, considering the 90s was all about mascots: hedgehogs, achidnas, cats, dogs, bats, even a fucking red dot.
As time went on, "furry" entertainment may as well be normal entertainment. So far is still aimed to kids, but some artworks made the adult scene.
Having said that, this doesn't hide the "real" furries. The ones who go with fursuits, with disguises and makeup. Then you have the ones who as far as becoming vegan, or stoping having animal-based objects because they want to be in touch with the inner animal.
Damn, there was a small period where furries hunted other furries. Something called "hard fur", I think. Basically some maniacs started a movement saying that killing furries would mean you absorb their souls, so many murderers were fursuiters with a brain disease.
So, yeah. Furry may be mainstream, but a "furry" will always be a red flag due to the story of this group. Hell, this stain existed since 1970s, so imagine how big their problems are that to this day "furry" may as well be "deranged".
