>>57480267Nah, it's meant to monetize Home and the main games more, you're meant to use your own pokemon in it
GF is happy if you're not ever unsubscribing from Home, this app looks like a cheap port of the SV Battles and it probably took them 5 guys and a week to put it together
just stating the obvious, it'll probably be
>link to your Nintendo/PokemonClub account>get linked to the games you've purchased>XY link means you can compete in the XY pool, with Mega, for example>you still have to get your pokemon in it from Home>AKA, everyone's buying Home, firing up their old games and bringing in all their competitive teams>Pokemon most likely stay on Home/Gen10 Main game>remains to be seen if Gen10 is actually excluded while it's live, and each game gets added to Campions as the new ones come out>would be much better if the current gen was excluded because imagine queing into a mobile player and getting stalled by lag for 80% of your matches>likely has a trial/limited mode using the lease teams functionality, so even people with no games can try it (and thus work as advertisement for the main games, including old ones)for me the real issue with this is that even if you're playing with an ethernet cable there's a considerable amount of lag in battles, you can even see it in VGC worlds matches
what does that look like on mobile?
sadly everything out of Japan seems to check with the server every time you move from menu to menu, for example TCGP is immensely frustrating because of this
the real stealth drop here is that with a mobile emulator you'll be able to play competitive on PC
