>>57568442Here's the thing, Pokemon was NEVER about graphics, or trying to make things look graphically appealing. That's not what made Pokemon good in the first place. You think some colorless 8 bit game got popular in the 90s during the big 3D craze because of graphics? No! The reason why it was popular was not only because of the monsters, but also the content and the fun of the game as well. It had nothing to do with graphical appeal and Pokemon was always about quantity rather than quality.
And even nowadays Pokemon proves time and time again that graphics and quality were never Pokemon's forte and they should've stuck with quantity instead. Which is proven by the fact that the polygons of even very few of the models in SV is enough to make the switch damn near explode. And don't get me started on how their technology is literally 3 generations behind everyone elses.
Pokemon is and should be about high amounts of content, and the quantity of their monsters, which is why a dexcut is an unnecessary and stupid. Which is why going back to RSE, DPPT, or even BW style graphics so GF can focus more on high amounts of content and can include things like the national dex, battle frontier, PWT, custom safari zones, better route design, and even things like the poke pelago without the switch bursting into flames would make for an objectively good game.
The monsters would look good regardless and having all of them would incentivize both me and you to play for longer. I came to play a videogame anon, not look at an art museum. It's 2025, no one's going to get pissed if GF goes for more retro graphics for higher amounts of content. Especially with a lot of the most positively reviewed games sacrificing graphics for gameplay or even just memorable characters and a good story.
Quantity over quality. Because gamefreak is not known for or loved for quality. I came for the creatures and a fun game, not some sloppy attempt at an art museum with removed or cut content.
