It's a mod that puts pokemon in Minecraft. The battle system is basically showdown, but you have to actually catch, train, and find your mons. We usually do some other mods that range from obnoxious and obstructive, to minor tweaks. Usually people form towns and found gyms which are like unofficial changes for little items in game as a reward. We do tournaments on weekends. It's pretty chill except a group of ultra autists who think making themselves unlikable is peak comedy, and are then surprised when no one likes them. But most people are chill and cool.

we have weekly tournaments with themes where we get to fight
some people make gyms or dojos with gimmicks you can fight and get rewards
there are also fishing and bug catching tournaments
we also had a few chisel and costume contests a year, and if the OP means anything maybe electrodeball is going to be back which is soccer
it's a good time overall, people make cool builds and everyone has a good time chilling and discussing together, there's nothing that stops you from coming over just to lurk and bit and if you don't like it just log off and never come back

There's weekly tourneys of different rules you can make teams for and player-run gyms that you can challenge that's purely a for fun thing to do. Every gym in memory has one rule set thst both people follow. Some people did shitty things like changing their rules to allow 1 legendary only after they got one, but after people made a fuss about it they stopped that. Like 99% of gyms have the same rules anyways, so you don't have to make a new team to fight them, which helps encourage challengers.
