>>57765616Having recently played BDSP, I want to make one thing clear about how ORAS was EXTREMELY BETTER in one department.
In ORAS, you can move with circle pad, any direction, any speed including sneak for a few things. If you need specific motion, for like a puzzle or a narrow cliff, you use the D-Pad and it snaps you to the spot you would have been in back in RSE era (but with diagonal movement too).
In BDSP, the D-Pad moves you 1 space each press, but your position is NOT solid. If you walk with D-Pad into something like Azelf, it moves you up or down because they gave it a circular hitbox and you can miss a precise mark. More than that, cliffs will autojump if you D-Pad to the spot just before a cliff. If you remember, the first step in climbing to Spear Pillar is a long 1-wide cliff. It is NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to do with D-Pad and instead you must use Stick and constantly press diagonal, or it will force you to jump.
What was perfected with ORAS was fucked by the BDSP rushjob. I would bet all positioning in that game is floating values.
