If the poll were rerun today, do you think Simisear would still be the least popular pokemon of all time? Back then Unova was the newest region but I think Paldea and Galar have some serious contenders

It's somewhat understandable. Fossils are very gimmicky, leading to fewer cards of those Pokémon in order to work with that gameplay. The same goes for Baby Stages and Ultra Beasts.
The real crime is Dracozolt having twice as many cards as Aurorus and Tyrantrum because half of its cards are low effort alt arts.
