but a disinterested expression is all her face allowed. Their unexpected love burns us all,
but not in the same way, not at all.

The baby cries,
and I remember that time flies.
She fell for the first time,
her first steps were to her a treacherous climb.
The proud parents held her in their arms,
not allowing her to meet any other harms.
Tears fell from everyone's eyes,
the baby's from the fright, the parents from delight, and mine from all my lies.
