Even women who make good money would rather date their boss than date someone who is good at cooking or likes kids. Easier to be a self-sufficient wagie and just cook fancy meals as a hobby for myself than try to fight against social norms at my own expense.
Of course, there's always the outlier women like you, but sacrificing your work history for a relationship is suicidal for men when it's not the norm. No one will hire you with a multi-year gap in your resume if you just say you were a homemaker.
