For necromancer you get your normal caster-style skills like bone spear/hemorrhage/blood nova as basics/spenders but you ALSO have to dedicate 1-2 positions on your bar for raise skeleton and your golem active ability (basic golem has a taunt, very useful)
By default you get 4 warrior-type skeletons (which can be chosen as more damage but lower health/more health average damage/more attack but slower attack), three mage-type skeletons (which can be shadow damage with stuns and vulnerability procs/ice mages that chill and freeze enemies/bone mages that sacrifice their own health to attack but are higher damage) and your aforementioned golem that's your big boy summon
There's passives to increase skeleton durability and their damage, but to increase the AMOUNT you can pick up you have to rely on legendary effects that give you ~2-3 extra of warriors and mages
There's also a ton of stuff in the paragon trees to make skeletons even better, but it requires a good amount of investment
