Spaniards tried their hardest to fold it back into the peninsula but without success, and Portugal tried a couple of times to expand northward but as well without success.
The point here is: the borders are where they are because, despite trying, neither side could actually get past a certain point and, after a while, it became the status quo. The same is true for why this thread is how this thread is.
If it gets too "peaceful" people will seize the opportunity to spread some chaos, as it's typical of a mostly unmoderated place.
If it gets too chaotic, it ends up forcing site staff to crack down and spread some vacations around.
The current state is the equilibrium after about 3 years of iterations between both. You can try to create a new thread but it will likely either fail to take root or, if it does, it might end up becoming just like this one right here
