>>3043555>>3043598>>3043618>>3043687Nah, I know it's a joke but the Yamaguchi-gumi are the real big fucking worrying type of Yakuza, the bad ones. If it was something that was more harmless like the Inagawa-Kai (mainly a gambling ring with prostitution on the side) it'd be funnier, but the Yamaguchi-gumi are the real fucked up ones. Rap sheet of:
>Arms trafficking, assassinations, bank fraud, bid rigging, blackmail, bookmaking, contract killing, extortion, drug trafficking, illegal gambling, Internet pornography, loansharking, mail fraud, match fixing, money laundering, mortgage fraud, murder, prostitution, racketeering, securities fraud, sōkaiya, wire fraud, and infiltration of legitimate businessesAlthough I will say, Japanese extortion practices are surprisingly simplistic, even when it comes to the Yamaguchi-gumi. They call it "Sōkaiya," and the quick rundown of it is that Yakuza buy a pittance of corporate stock, allowing them to attend Shareholder meetings, and then they tell the corporate heads that they'll shout really obnoxiously and spread faked narratives of corporate misconduct until they get paid or do what the Yakuza wants. It fucking works, and they get paid off to not embarrass the company. If their narratives don't work, the Sōkaiya men just start shouting "BANZAI" and various mentions of the Emperor until they get paid off.
