A method that worked for when I'm writing things for a character in a certain location they won't be back to for a while is to try writing all that I might want to happen there. Then I take a look at it when the scene is due to transition and think about what might be coming next, and how much in the current scene might either be too much fat, or an event or action that could be placed in another location or setting.
A way to potentially solve wanting to write X in place A after the fact, you can always do a change in perspective within the narrative and possibly write a scene in place A that doesn't have X in it since they can't be right now, and still elude to whatever you wanted to portray with different actors. If that is applicable of course.
