I'm going to say some things that may come off way harsher than I mean to, so take everything with a whole lot less hate in it.
I can't get into watching chuuba streams at all. I don't know if it's an age thing or what, but the idea of watching a chuuba stream for like 5 hours each week without stopping sounds like a fucking nightmare to me. It's not a time constraint or I'm "burnt out" from watching stuff. I'll gladly watch triple or quadruple that amount in other, more constrained types of content. I have no issues watching amv's of chuuba stuff, or watching their skits. Even watching their trimmed stuff is fine. But what's the appeal of watching them stream?
The worst part of it all; I can watch other streamers just fine. In fact, the only reason WHY I stopped watching a streamer was because they added a chuuba avatar to their shit and I suddenly lost interest.
I think it's because there's a weird disconnect going on. Streaming is meant to be more communal and open than traditional video format. But the whole chuuba avatar thing makes the streamer even more hidden than a traditional online persona. So combining the two is like the equivalent of a megacorp saying "We're all one big family here! But if you take an extra minute on a break you're fired". It's just this persistent feeling in the back of my mind that makes me just feel uneasy at best and down right revolted at worst.
