>>72263152Yeah they just chose a spot because the people who came up with the system were english, it's not based on anything innate about the earth, whereas poles are. That's what I mean by saying it's arbitrary, it's just a point that was picked because there needs to be one. Sure it's better for us arbitrarily to have the bigger pacific ocean on the edges of the map vs the smaller atlantic, but again, that's just aeshteic and a map like this one here is just as correct, and if it was our default, the US would be in "the east".
