I can never tell if she believes what she says or says these things in hopes that she can believe them, but the fact that she's stood up after being knocked down so many times is why she's special, regardless of whether or not she believes what she says.
And it's why she's my oshi. I'm not looking to save someone and she's not looking to be saved. She's a whole ass adult that's been dealt some pretty shitty cards all her life, but she's played the hands she's been given with aplomb.
