>>63656194>>63656290Yeah, I mean I try to be understanding because this is how Japanese corpos do things and realistically none of them would've been as popular as they are if NijiEN didn't exist. However there certainly needs to be some kind of change within the industry, the rise of indie vtubers in 2022 and 2023 largely caused people to reexamine the value of being in a corpo. If they aren't doing anything for you, then your talent is being squandered is the general sentiment. Especially since vtubers tend to have a limited amount of time in the industry as the streamer bubble is unpredictable. Time spent in a corpo that doesn't support you is time you'll never get back.
It's not like I'm not grateful for all the good memories of being a NijiEN fan, or that I don't like NijiJP's stuff, but it does feel like EN as a branch is being wasted when they have so many creative types that are wishing they could do more.
>>63656324Not all companies, it's mostly JP companies that do this. Phase, VShojo, and even Idol despite their current drama pay for their talents' projects because they know it helps them grow. It's considered an investment in western corpos, while JP corpos just act like a talent agency more than an entertainment brand.
