If things need to go slow to be the way you want them to be, so be it. If you want to cater to an audience's wants, take up a prompt instead. Balsa is YOUR story, and you need to not get wishy washy with how its executed because of how you think people might react to it. If it's interesting to you and you let that passion take you, it'll come out as interesting for others to read when you put the work in. Pull up your pants, put on your big boy shoes, and give the story the content your heart thinks it needs.
