>>25860560On the AK? It's a red dot sight mounted to the handguard. On a traditional AK, there really isn't a spot to mount an optic, outside of the proprietary russian side rail system. They make replacement dust covers with rails for the rear, but most of those have issues with a stable lockup on the gun. Mounting the optics to a railed handguard was really the only option in the late 90's to early 2000's before they came out with quality railed dust covers and side rail mounts that gave you the ability to mount western sights.
