>>73872715I agree that it's different now, but really, I think it's because it doesn't need to be an all-inclusive support group anymore. Back then there wasn't really a "ladder" of support, you could count the number of partnered streamers discussed here on your hands. Most vtubers fell either in the 2-50 viewer range or the 1000+ viewer range, with much fewer inbetween to support up and coming streamers then there are now. In current year it makes more sense to network within your niche and make friends that way, and you're more likely to be noticed and supported by someone a little bigger than you without there being a massive divide or flatline between your viewers.
fwiw I was also too late for the "unity" era and I never networked through the threads (asp was going through arguably it's worst arc at the time), but I hung out in the communities of people that got shilled here, and thats where I got to know the people that ended up watching and supporting me when I started streaming. /asp/ is not a permenant support group, it's a place to get your footing while you find your actual community that shares the same interests and audience, if you expect people here to be both your viewers and your support you're going to only be disappointed.
