Starting with Nintendo permissions Subaru lost a chunk of possible streaming content but recovered with lots of collabs with Mio, MioSuba seemed unstoppable at the time. But when the purge started Subaru's channel got completely fucked and her first and most popular precious RPG playthrough got erased without a trace by her manager. And she had to apologize for it on her stream. Barely could find words to sound optimistic.
On top of that Mio got banned. They had a lot of plans in ARK at the time and it basically destroyed them all. Subaru visited Mio's lifeless body there every stream (sometimes it was funny
https://files.catbox.moe/z3kmo0.webm) until she and Mio just fully transitioned to playing the game on their own off-stream and Subaru's ARK arc ended. And MioSuba ended too even after Mio returned, they just relegated everything off-stream.
Miko went on a break too and that affected Subaru too, there wasn't a day when she didn't talk to her and at the time nobody was reporting on Miko and Mio more than Subaru.
Also Subaru moved out to live on her own and as she expected she absolutely couldn't stomach being alone, she didn't even last a week before her lifestyle went to shit, she got lazy and almost depressed. Then different problems started - she didn't have a Live2D update in time with her genmates and even worse her anniversary 3D Live got postponed (on top of her birthday Live never happening at all), and then postponed AGAIN after she already asked people about when they wanted it to happen. She felt like she's betraying her audience and she started spiraling into depression, she cried a lot back then until she had that anniversary home stream with Mio and let it all out crying over a cake Mio got her. Oh, and then her anniversary 3D got postponed again, this time with no explanation and no date. Still no news to this day.
She eventually got a Live2D update but it was for the outfit she never uses so it's pretty much useless. WHOOPS.
It was also a time when she lost her direction as a vtuber, since all of her dreams already came true she found it hard to be ambitious. Only later she got a good talk with Choco about it and found a new purpose and a reason to give her best again. It's when she started to grow again and still is. The highlight of that period was definitely Spice Love and I think it really improved her mood.
So I do think that things are better for her now. Her new manager seems like a good lass who pays attention and the whole girly Subaru thing finally highlights the side of hers that's always been there but rarely put to use. I hope Shuba is going to continue inclining even more from now on. Let her be happy Subaru for once, she deserves it.
