>>33696213OK, since we're really getting into it, I will go in depth and explain what the Root is. I said the Root is being God. Which was an oversimplification it's not. In the Nasuverse, as in most Japanese media, God is not the Abrahamic omnipotent and omnipresent force one might think of, God just refers to a really powerful being that your Japanese high school student's self insert will defeat at the end of your game/manga/VN/anime.
The Root is the Akashic Record which is basically time and space doesn't matter, it's everything that has ever happened and ever will happen. You could think of it a little like DC's Source Wall and the Source but even that isn't really it. The Root is everything. Everything that has ever happened and ever will happen and can happen.
So, what happens when an individual reaches the Root? Well maybe they gain godlike power because they can see everything all at once ever. Or maybe they cease to exist because they are everything, all at once, ever. Or maybe none of this matters because you and literally everything else in the universe already reached the Root before you were born, while you lived, and after you died. If you could see everything and be everywhere all at once, and could affect outcomes...then you aren't a person anymore, there is no (You), you're just part of the universe observing itself, which you always were in the first place to begin with simply by being born, dying, existing.
Anyways anything that gives even a glimpse of a possible path to the Root, like True Magic or certain Eyes or any of that shit will possibly cause madness because the human mind can't handle that, or maybe just you will cease to exist because you already existed and you are existing now and oh no I've gone cross eyed.
