>>31023453I quite like this idea.
As for my own thread, I'd see it as follows...
>The Ka-ti Mak Originally inhabitants of the great /hlgg/ empire, more specifically, they were a caste of merchants within the empire
the "BUY" and "SELL" posting, from which NASFAQ got inspiredAfter the split the Ka-ti Mak were spread all across the world, and they mixed with the local populations. Only in the area where the modern Serene Republic is located a Ka-ti Mak majority existed and the population remained ethnically unchanged.
>Lady HonkHonk was perhaps originally something like a powerful alchemist
and perhaps a catalognaut of the /hlgg/ Empire. After the split she retained some of the knowledge of the Japonian magic and technology.
Lady Honk sought out the Ka-ti Mak, and settled where they lived. There under the Home Island she began building the arcane machinery of the Stock Exchange and its related building's and entities, utilizing her knowledge of the ancient magics in this ordeal
>DevsApostles of Honk whom she recruited over the years, teaching them her knowledge (or part of it at least, not even the Devs know how exactly the Stock Exchange works, only Honk does)
The construction under the Home Island continues to this day. None of the locals save for the Dev Council and Honk herself are allowed to see engines and machinery that make it all work.
>Everyone ElseMost of the Serene Republic population migrated from the surrounding areas, mostly from the Holocontinent. They settled the land and soon the descendants of these migrants filled the land, making the Ka-ti Mak a minority in the nation.
