i'm no professional writer, but use your five senses; describing smells, sights, the feelings of things being touched, the sounds you hear, and (if applicable) your sense of taste will help make your writing a little more vivid. and don't tell us something, show it; if someone is feeling a certain way, don't outright tell the reader what it is, just allude to it
