At what point will Hololive stop debuting new generations, only maintaining a certain max until enough graduate to be replaced?
Real life idol groups cap their numbers, if the companies behind them wanna expand they often just make entirely new groups.
Even if Hololive and Stars aren't proper idols and are just streamers which everyone and their mum is these days, they make good use capitalizing on the idol phenomenon and traits, and fans can only psychologically keep up with so many people and the relationships between them before it becomes impossible.
Personally since I shifted to watching EN when it began I didn't pay any much more attention to JP, I keep forgetting Koyori and Iroha are even from Hololive and assume they're indies when posted due to never watching them and the sorta generic designs, I didn't know Uproar existed until I saw the interactions with the first EN Stars, I never knew a second EN Stars gen debuted until months after the fact, I often forget the ID branch even exists outside Ollie appearing everywhere and I completely forget ReGloss exists at all until despite just debuting until I see an interaction which is what inspired this thought/post.
I'm also getting to the point where whenever the main girls I do watch start interacting with other Holos I find it slightly annoying because it feels like everyone is increasingly becoming strangers and I don't know what's happening nor feel like it's worth paying attention to as I'll likely not see that person again for months
All that, and I'm a terminally online no life faggot who almost exclusively watches Hololive entertainment wise and spends hours every day with this board on one of my screens.
