I got to enjoy not one, but two Sonny streams today! Life is good, actually.
I'm really not a Minecraft person, and quite frankly, I found last night's Minecraft stream pretty boring. I'm glad he enjoys the game enough to stream it as a guerilla, though, and I like how he always plays in a very considerate way - he's always looking out for things people need, and he's really particular about keeping things organized and closing up exhausted mines and dead ends so other people don't waste their time. It's very sweet of him.
This stream actually got me really engaged, but that's mostly because Luca was being an absolute troublemaker and enabling Sonny's police officer RP. It was nice to see him forced to engage with the rest of the server since he's usually focused on his own projects, and I think it's cool that he's into his kayfabe too - I feel like he struggles to come up with things to say sometimes, and the whole cop LARP is an easy character to retreat into while being strangely funny. I liked when he got into it in the Ready or Not stream, too.
His zatsudan stream was interesting, too. I was surprised by just how much detail he ended up going into about his life and past experiences, especially about being socially awkward and getting kicked out of his family's house while in Japan. I imagine PLfags are connecting the dots here. I'm glad that he's actually comfortable talking about himself and his experiences now instead of just food - although he certainly talked a lot about food today, too! - but I'm also just a little concerned because this is the kind of thing that breeds not just parasocial but also weird savior/stalker fanbases. Hopefully he'll continue to be careful with his own opsec.
Thanks for listening to my TED talk. I think I talk too much.
